Venice Beach: Known for its funkiest ambience, this beach is home to shop for almost everything. It is also a brooding place for graffiti artists, street dancers, body builders and all dramatic characters one can imagine. The graffiti walls are interesting to watch. The place is so alive with “funk” at its peak. Even observing things is an amusement here. The beach is more active in summers because of large number of tourists visiting the place.
Caution: Avoid visiting early in the morning and late in the evening because fogs could be observed at the place that time.
Manhattan Beach: The Manhattan Beach is way too popular since it is believed it has got some or the other thing to please anyone irrespective of his age or personality or mood. No one can feel bored here. If you are a food lover then you are going to crave for this food once you are out of this place. Manhattan Avenue and Boulevard are full of eating places. If you are a shopaholic then you would die for such a collection. If you are a surfer (or even a beginner), then you would have a great fun surfing for sure. If you are on a holiday with family then you can enjoy a stroll or enjoy playing volleyball here. The beautiful pier is one of its kinds and is also the home for an extraordinary aquarium.
Caution: Parking is a problem here. One can try parking area in north of Manhattan Beach Boulevard.
Santa Monica Beach: The Santa Monica Beach is known for its amusement parks, one of the few at Los Angeles Beaches to have any. This Pacific Park amusement park over the pier attracts the attention of kids and is worth a visit.
Caution: Montana Avenue is a better place to shop than the much popular Third Street Promenade which has regular clothing stuff available at inflated prices. The place is cool enough, so do not forget your over-coats and jackets. These could be needed. The place is not considered very safe late in the evening for girls, so watch out.
Cabrillo Beach: Swimming, fishing, boating and what not. One can find so many water activities being held here, more than any other Los Angeles Beach. If one is fond of water sports then this is the right place. This historic beach is situated in San Pedro and offers thrilling sports like scuba diving, wind surfing and lot more. It is the only public beach with port complex and has a very rare Bathhouse building. Popular for its aquatic life, Cabrillo Marine aquarium has tremendous types of water species imparting knowledge and teaching conservation of marine life in Southern CA.
